The arrival of a baby represents for many parents a whirlwind of emotions, especially if it is the first time you bring a new life into the world. The arrival of a new baby is not only a challenge for mom or dad, this little member becomes the center of attention of the whole family.

If you are a new parent, you should keep in mind that the arrival of a new baby brings with it a series of situations that seem to take many parents by surprise.

Here are some of these situations. Get a pencil and paper and join me.

What you should know about newborns.

1.The moment you see your baby for the first time.

For many mothers, the first encounter with their baby can be a confusing time. During the first few minutes of life, a baby has a somewhat curious appearance. After birth and because the baby has passed through the mother’s duct, the baby’s head may have a “strange” shape.

Not only this, but their body may also be covered by a kind of fuzz, which is not necessarily hair. It is also very common that they can’t open their eyes. Don’t panic! It is absolutely normal. It is only a matter of time before your baby is back to “normal”.

2. Don’t be sad if your baby doesn’t smile.

When you become a parent for the first time, the first thing we want to see in our baby is a cute and cuddly smile. But don’t rush it!  It is up to six weeks after birth that the baby starts to smile.

However, this does not mean that he does not feel the love and affection of his parents. You can continue to pamper him, he will enjoy it, even if he doesn’t deliberately express it on his face.

3.It is normal for your baby to have dry skin.

It is normal for your baby to have dry skin at the time of birth, not for less, this little person has spent nine months submerged in water, so, when leaving, your skin may be somewhat affected.

Likewise, it is very normal to have small scratches or even baby acne. You can deal with it a little by applying hypoallergenic and fragrance-free baby lotions.

4.It’s normal for your baby to cry.

Babies cry! We know it’s normal, but for many new mothers it can be a cause for concern. Crying is the way babies express all their needs. So when your baby cries, don’t get overwhelmed, patiently try to understand what he is trying to communicate.

5.Babies sleep a lot.

Babies need a lot of sleep, this is nothing to worry about. You may be worried about why they don’t sleep often, i.e. they wake up every so often to eat. But the important thing here is that you can get used to sleeping at night and only take a few naps during the day.

6.For your baby you will always be the best dad.

No matter if we are new, scared and inexperienced parents. Even with our virtues and defects, there is no other person more important to him than us. So believe in your own instinct, especially in your way of accompanying, loving and protecting. The heart will always show us the right path to take.
